5. 가정교회를 시작한 년/월: 2019년 11월 6. "저는 이런 목사입니다." I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior in April 1985 as a 15 years old teenager. The Lord called me to ministry in the year 1986, while I was still in school. I completed my education and qualified to enter Law College. But I committed to full time ministry instead and attended the Lanka Bible College in 1991 to read for my B.Th. After serving as a pastor in several churches in the hill country of Sri Lanka, I came to the western part of the country as the principal of a Bible College. Although I had many facilities provided there, I did not feel fulfilled as it was not my calling. So I came with my wife and daughter to gombo, a seaside town in the Western Province, and pioneered a church in Dalupotha 22 years ago. After struggling with church growth for almost 10 years, I was introduced to cell groups by a friend of mine. After we began practicing this system, we saw tremendous growth in the church. During this time, I met Rev. Sun Bong Choi and was encouraged by him to attend the House Church Seminar at AFM Victory Celebration church, SA. The genuine love and servant leadership I witnessed in the life of Rev. Choi and at the church in SA touched me deeply and convinced me that this was truly rediscovering the Early Church. I came back to Sri Lanka and we began a mokjang for our cell leaders in our home. After nearly a year, our leaders gradually transformed into shepherds and started mokjangs in several areas in Negombo and the suburbs. God has blessed our ministries immensely. We are currently in the process of building our church building and God has guided us amazingly thus far. We would love to introduce House Churches to other churches in Sri Lanka as well, and we have already been able to host three seminars to teach about House Churches for pastors from all over Sri Lanka. Praise the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! |
