6. "Àú´Â ÀÌ·± ¸ñ»çÀÔ´Ï´Ù." I'm R.M.S.P.B. Hunukumbura. My family is Buddhist, and I was born into it. My sister's remarkable recovery from a fatal illness led my family as a whole to accept Christ as their Savior and Lord. God spoke to me in 1994 by bringing to mind Romans 3:23. That was the real turning moment in my life; I confessed my sins, and a new phase of my Christian life began. God spoke to me through Daniel 4:35 while I was praying for guidance in my life. I finally realized that my life was intended to be used in God's service. In 1995, I participated in a DTS through YWAM. And later, I finished my theology degree in 1996–1997 at Lanka Bible College and Seminary. Then in 2004 I went on a mission study journey to India with YWAM's School of Pioneering. The opportunity to enroll in the M.Th. program at Jeon Ju University in South Korea from 2007 to 2009 was then God's way of guiding me to a higher level of theological education. In terms of my personal life, I married Inshani in 1998 after she and I both attended the DTS. Currently, our family consists of two sons and a daughter. At the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka, Inshani graduated with a Bachelor of Art in Christian Studies in 2000. While serving as an assistant pastor in the church, she is currently employed as a teacher. Churches experienced pressure from society between 2008 and 2010. We structured the church into a house church movement as God led us through the circumstances. The International House Church ministry is something that God led me to disclose in 2019. I made the strategic decision to become a house church movement in the year 2019 as a pastor together with the leadership team. At this time, we have ten house churches and more than 50 families. Our goal is to empower believers to lead house churches and to see more leaders emerge so that the Sri Lankan church can securely advance in the faith. |
